What’s new?

Here is where we will post updates on the site, the business and everything else we think is (possibly) relevant to you IF you live in Israel and are interested in Maple Syrup.

________________

February 9, 2022- Seriously- we are terrible at updating things. So from 2016 up until now we were in business, almost got crushed by some scams and some poor accounting, then had a medical crisis, then had Covid shut down all the markets and the business went on “hold” for a while and NOW we are back in business and getting caught up. Whew!

Ok, ok- we haven’t updated this page in… almost 10 months. Sorry about that. We’ll try harder.

________________

April 27, 2015- Lots happening- our next shipment is being organised right now. We will have details next week sometime. We have begun a test run of maple liqueur… we’ll see how it turns out. Also trying to make maple candy soon. We will keep you all posted!

________________

March 24, 2015- Whoops! We kinda forgot about updating this page. Our bad. We’ll try better. We will not be selling syrup during Pesach and we will be updating our website so things MAY look a little off. Please bear with us while we catch up on all the updates that we have been ignoring for the last few months.

________________

November 11, 2014- We are doing a delivery run on Monday November 17th!

________________

November 10, 2014- Our Delivery Policy (such as it is) will be changing starting on Thursday. If we can tremp it to you, there is no extra cost but otherwise there will be a 20 NIS fee.

________________

October 22, 2014- The Syrup has arrived at last! Our family will sample the very first bottle with some whole wheat pancakes tonight. We’ll let you know how it goes 😉

________________

October 20, 2014- What does it mean when they say “there is a problem”? So the syrup is in customs in Ashdod and there is a problem. We don’t know what the problem is or how it impacts on the delivery but we are still hopefully going to see some syrup in our home by the end of the week. Emphasis on the word “hopefully”.

________________

October 1, 2014- We have found something fun (or maybe just “funny”)- check out the latest post on the homepage and follow the link to track our maple syrup shipment across the sea- live!

________________

September 22, 2014- We are looking for recipes AND we are taking pre-orders. Lots going on!

________________

September 14, 2014- The syrup arrives, in theory, Oct 8. It will need a few days to get through customs SO we are looking at delivery to your door sometime during Chol Hamoed (the days between Sukkot and Simcha Torah). We will continue to update you as the facts filter in.
_______________

August 14, 2014- We have been legally allowed to import Maple Syrup since Tuesday. They just didn’t tell us. Better late than never?

________________

July 31, 2014- We are ONE permit away from making this all a reality! We’ll update again when we place the order and we should be able to give you an e.t.a. on when the Syrup will arrive.

________________

July 8, 2014- Once we have the stuff here in Israel, we are going to sell maple syrup for 100 NIS per 32 oz. glass bottle. Yay!

________________

July 1, 2014- We’re a business! It’s official. I can now pay taxes at an accelerated pace to the government. Yay! Time to get the syrup flowing… which may take upwards of 45 more days. 🙁

________________

June 18, 2014- More progress on the paperwork front AND opened a Facebook page to help keep people “in the loop”. Go here to see it: https://www.facebook.com/maplesyrupisrael

________________

May 21, 2014- Progress- sort of. Sometime next week we will have a meeting where we will sort out the red tape side of things. In theory we will be a business sometime shortly after that. THEN, I think, we will know how much it will cost us to bring Maple Syrup to Israel!

________________

May 15, 2014- We are going “public” with the website. No more hiding behind firewalls and noindex obscurity. Finally. We THINK we are close to getting this whole maple syrup thing going now. Yay for us! Good thing too as the Israeli McGowan clan is down to it’s last litre of the golden goodness.

April something…- Can’t remember when we did this, but we bought a waffle iron and for once, it seems to be a WORKING waffle iron. There is a big, long back-story but the relevant bit here is that our maple syrup consumption is about to jump up… and we are running low. Which means we have added impetus to get the import thing sorted out pronto! Stay tuned.
